Summary: The Perris Union High School District is requesting to adopt Resolution No. 42:22-23, authorizing the District to utilize the Bid extension of the Murrieta Valley RFP #03022021 as awarded to Gold Star Foods for the purchase of fresh and processed produce for the Seamless Summer Program, School Breakfast Program, and the National School Lunch Program. The Bid was awarded at the Murrieta Valley Unified School District Board meeting on May 13, 2021, as a cooperative bid with the Temecula Valley Unified School District, Lake Elsinore Unified School District, Menifee Union School District, Perris Elementary School District, and Perris Union High School District. The District has determined that it is in its best interest to continue to contract with Gold Star Foods through the 2023-24 school year. The estimated cost for the 2023-24 school year is approximately $125,000 based on the estimated quantities for the prices listed on the Bid. The contract may be renewed annually upon mutual consent for up to two (2) additional one (1) year terms for a maximum of three (3) years, in accordance with Education Code Section 81644.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2023-24 operating budget funded through Nutrition Services, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees adopt Resolution No. 42:22-23 - Resolution Authorizing Piggybacking for the Purchase of Fresh and Processed Produce.
