Summary:
|
The District has ongoing and future paint projects. In an effort to provide uniformity, cost savings, and consistent quality, the District seeks to standardize the brand "Dunn-Edwards" in its bid specifications for future District paint projects.
Pursuant to Public Contract Code section 3400, the District may designate that a particular material, product, thing, or service is designated by specific brand or trade name in order to match other products in use on a particular public improvement either completed or in the course of completion upon a finding by the Board of Trustees. Although the Public Contract Code does not require that the Board of Trustees make specific findings in standardizing a brand or trade name, the District believes that this action is desirable because, among other things, it will ensure uniformity, cost savings, and consistent quality in District paint projects.
