Summary: The District previously awarded the contract to Miller Construction (“Miller”) as the Lease-Leaseback contractor for the Perris High School Completion Phase Project (“the Project”). Miller Construction is currently completing the final phase of this project which was approved on October 21, 2020 as Addendum C to the Perris High School Lease Leaseback contract with Miller Construction. The approved cost of Addendum C was included in the Addendum’s Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) of $58,893,269. Now that work on the Perris High School campus begins to come to a completion, the District has conducted a review of the condition of the paint on the Perris High School campus in areas which are not included in Addendum C, and has found this to be in a faded and deteriorated condition. As a result of this review, the District is recommending that the campus be painted and has requested a proposal from Miller Construction to paint the remainder of the Perris High School Campus which was not covered in the Completion Phase Project. The cost to add the painting of the campus to Addendum C is $477,000 which would change the previously approved Addendum C, Completion Phase GMP to $59,370,269.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 operating budgets funded through Various Facilities Funds, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve Change Order #167 for the addition of campus painting to the Perris High School Completion Phase Project.
