Summary:
|
Perris Union High School District’s Board Bylaws authorize the Board to provide advocacy on behalf of students, the District's educational program, and public education in order to build support within the local community and at the state and national levels. (Board Bylaw 9000(5).) Trustee Campos is requesting authorization from the Board of Trustees to advocate on behalf of the Board and the District on Assembly Bill (AB) 665, Minors: Consent to Mental Health Services. Advocacy may include testimony in legislative hearings and/or meeting with legislators and staff.
After hearing from Trustee Campos regarding his position either in support or opposition on AB 665, the Board of Trustees should discuss this matter. The Board should determine whether to authorize Trustee Campos to advocate on the determined position on behalf of the Board and the District.

It is recommended that the Board of Trustees provide Trustee Campos direction on his request to advocate on Assembly Bill (AB) 665 on behalf of the Board.
