Summary:
|
Heritage High School Agriculture Advisor, Jeremiah Perotti, is requesting Board approval for Heritage High School's (HHS) Future Farmers of American (FFA) students to attend the 2022 FFA Made for Excellence Conference/Advanced Leadership Academy (MFE/ALA) Conference in Ontario, California on February 4-5, 2022.
The Made for Excellence conference will focus on developing student's leadership skills, exploring the role of choices and responsibility in character development, investigating personal strengths and interests, and identifying specific opportunities for involvement in FFA and continued leadership growth.
The Advanced Leadership Academy will bring focus to the agriculture industry. Each student will be exposed to industry leaders and organizations and understand the vital role they play in promoting agriculture; create an understanding of issues that affect the agriculture industry, and develop/present an oral argument on one of the identified issues.
Five (5) FFA students and one chaperone will be attending the FFA MFE/ALA. The cost per person is $57, with the approximate total cost not to exceed $400. Transportation to Ontario will be provided by District vehicles.

The cost for this item is included in the 2021-22 operating budget funded through Heritage High School's Future Farmers of America Associated Student Body Fund and the Perkins Grant, not the General Fund.
