Summary: On October 23, 2024, the California Military Institute Charter School and the California Military Institute Teachers Association (CMITA) reached a Tentative Agreement (TA). In accordance with Government Code ยง3547, both parties presented their initial proposals for negotiations on a successor to the certificated collective bargaining agreement. They have finalized a three-year collective bargaining agreement covering the period from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2027. Major provisions of the TA include revisions to Article VII (Professional Work Day), Article X (Leave of Absences), Article XI (Assignment and Reassignment), Article XII (Layoffs), Article XIII (Probationary Release and Dismissal), Article XIV (Safety Conditions of Employment), and Article XV (Compensation and Benefits). Additionally, the parties have agreed to add a new Article XVII addressing the Supervision of Non-Teachers. The details of the Tentative Agreement are in the attached document.
Funding: No fiscal impact.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Successor Tentative Agreement between the California Military Institute and the California Military Institute Teachers Association regarding the 2024-25 school year as presented.
