Summary: Staff recommends revising the current job description for the Director of Facilities. This updated job description, along with the updated job description for the Director of Maintenance and Operations also allows for the District to revert to the previous leadership structure, with separate directors for the Maintenance and Operations and Facilities Departments. The Director of Facilities provides oversight of the District’s short and long-term facilities planning, construction, modernization, and renovation efforts; coordinates the implementation of the Facilities Master Plan; and is responsible for developing and managing capital facilities budgets, including identifying alternative funding sources and developing cooperative joint use agreements. The Director also oversees developer fees and Community Facilities Districts (CFDs), facilitates site acquisition and environmental planning, and serves as the District’s liaison to public agencies and the Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee. The job description has been updated to more accurately reflect the current scope of duties and responsibilities associated with the position.
Funding: No fiscal impact.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the revised job description: Director of Facilities.
