Summary: The Perris Union High School District (PUHSD) would like to enter into an Agreement for online tutoring and essay review services with TutorMe for the 2023-2024 school year. These services provide a chat and/or video-based tutoring service and actionable insights through an online platform for students. Each online educator, a TutorMe Employee, undergoes a criminal background check prior to employment. Services offered are: - Socratic teaching method - 24/7 unlimited service in English, Spanish, French, and many other languages - Available on any device (IOS or Android) - Free teacher/Administrator accounts - Provides students with Essay Review, where students can upload any piece of written work and receive an annotated version of their work within twenty-four hours. TutorMe will connect to PUHSD’s existing infrastructure with automatic class rostering through our Student Information System (SIS), with school-specific course names and codes and no new passwords necessary. The term of this Agreement shall be from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024, at a total cost of $220,000.
Funding: The cost for this item will be included in the 2023-24 operating budget funded through funded through Local Control Accountability Plan Supplemental and Concentration Funds, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Agreement with TutorMe for online tutoring and essay review services.
