Randel Ogawa, Paloma Valley High School teacher and wrestling coach; and Marshall Palmer, Paloma Valley High School classified staff and wrestling coach; request approval from the Board of Trustees for ten (10) Paloma Valley High School wrestling team members to attend the 45th Annual "Doc" Buchanan Wrestling Invitational Tournament, in Clovis, California, January 6-7, 2023.
The 45th Annual "Doc" Buchanan Wrestling Invitational Tournament is a prestigious event that has consistently brought together the finest teams and individual wrestlers in the State of California. Wrestlers who emerge victorious from this grueling two-day tournament traditionally represent their leagues and sections at the CIF State Wrestling Meet on the first weekend in March at Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield.
This year, ten (10) Paloma Valley High School student wrestlers have been invited to compete in the "Doc" Buchanan Tournament. Each student's individual family will provide student transportation, lodging, and meals. The two (2) coaches will travel to Clovis via District vehicle. Any additional costs will be paid from PVHS Associated Student Body funds.

The cost for this item is included in the 2022-23 operating budget funded through the Paloma Valley High School Associated Student Body Fund, not the General Fund.
