Summary: The Perris Union High School District entered into Agreements with Behavioral Autism Therapies for behavior intervention services for two students. An Amendment has been added to the first signed Agreement due to increasing service minutes per the student’s IEP.

The services include a one-to-one (1:1) behavior intervention specialist to provide intervention strategies and communication approaches to minimize any potential for student escalation. The specialist will also collaborate with PUHSD staff and providers regarding the needs of each student. The services also include an ABA Certified Supervisor to document interventions, collaborate with all necessary staff, and attend IEP meetings to disseminate information.

The term of these Agreements shall be from August 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022. Services are being provided at a cost not to exceed $184,500.

These Agreements are being brought forth as ratifications due to students being new to the District and the need for services to begin immediately.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2021-22 operating budget funded through Special Education, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees ratify the Agreements with Behavioral Autism Therapies for behavior intervention services as required.
