Summary:
|
The Perris Union High School District wishes to use the Hemet Unified School District’s piggyback bid number 061719 to purchase school buses (Hemet USD Contract) for student transportation. On February 15, 2023 the Board of Trustees approved the Agreement with Hemet Unified School District for Student Transportation for a five (5) year term commencing on July 1, 2023. This contract includes the provision for the District to add 5 new Transit Type 1 buses, and in return keep the cost of transportation services lower than otherwise possible.
The cost for each Transit Type 1 bus is $274,929.91; for a total cost of $1,374,649.56 for five (5) buses. This Resolution No. 38:22-23 stipulates the total cost of said purchase as well as determines that utilizing the Hemet USD contract is in the best interest of the District.

The cost for this item will be included in the 2023-24 operating budget funded through the General Fund.
