Summary:
|
Ms. Shelby Purcell, Paloma Valley High School Friday Night Live (FNL) Club Advisor, requests the Board of Trustees approval to attend the FNL Youth Summit at the Anaheim Hilton in Anaheim, California, March 17-19, 2023. Twelve (12) FNL Club students and two (2) adult chaperones will attend the event.
The Riverside County Office of Education sponsors the FNL Youth Summit. Students will spend both days attending lectures and activities to build leadership skills, teach self-awareness, and discuss drug, alcohol, and mental health awareness. The skills taught at these camps include essential leadership and specific leadership skills that have to do with prevention education in the areas of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs (ATOD). These leadership skills will enable students to facilitate activities and club events while under the direction of a staff advisor and a county liaison.
The cost will be reimbursed entirely by the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE). Friday Night Live ASB Funds will provide transportation for all school sites.

The cost for this item is included in the 2022-23 operating budget funded through the Riverside County Office of Education and Paloma Valley High School's Friday Night Live Associated Student Body Fund, not the General Fund.
