Summary: On April 1, 2022, the Perris Union High School District (“The District”) issued a formal Notice Inviting Bids for the California Military Institute Covered Walkway Project (“The Project”). This project includes the construction of a covered walkway that will be installed between the new gymnasium and the E building on the California Military Institute (CMI) campus. The bid opening was held on April 29, 2022. Responsive Bids were submitted as follows:

Roadway Engineering and Construction Corp. - $480,000
HL Hitchcock Construction, Inc. - $349,800


The bid documents of the apparent low bidder were reviewed and a post interview was conducted with said bidder. Pursuant to Public Contract Code 20111, the District is recommending the award of contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Dalke & Sons Construction, Inc.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2021-2022 operating budget funded through Restricted Maintenance Funds, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees award Bid #042822 - California Military Institute Covered Walkway Project.
