Summary: The District wishes to enter into a three (3) year Software Agreement with Edmentum for credit recovery, Career Technical Education, and Interventions. Edmentum (Plato Courseware) is a standards-based online learning program grounded in a tradition of solid research, sound pedagogy, and applied innovation. They develop a rigorous, relevant curriculum that challenges students with a 21st Century approach. The courses that will be offered will be from the approved list of A-G courses from the UC/CSU system. In addition, we will have the opportunity to offer Career Technical Education (CTE) courses that do not have either enough students registered or a qualified teacher available. This program also allows accessing struggling students and creating a program that meets their individual needs. Whether students are falling behind, at grade level, or advanced, Edmentum (PLATO) can accommodate their unique needs in an environment in which they will thrive. Edmentum (Plato Courseware) can be used in a lab setting, a blended model in which online courses supplement the traditional classroom, or through a completely virtual experience. Edmentum will become the backbone of our credit recovery program for us to give our students the ability to graduate from high school and be A-G eligible.

The term of this Agreement shall be for three (3) years from September 15, 2021, through September 14, 2024. The cost for this program is $126,650.25 per year for a total amount of $379,950.75 for the three (3) year contract.

CMI will be billed a prorated portion at $10,500 per year for a total of $31,500 for the three (3) year contract.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24 operating budgets funded through the Local Control Accountability Plan Supplemental and Concentration Funds, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Multi-Year Software Agreement with Edmentum for credit recovery, career technical education, and interventions.
