Summary:

In May 2022, the Perris Union High School District Board awarded the Special Inspection and Testing services for the Perris High School 33 Meter Pool Project (Project) to NV5 Incorporated. The District has decided to replace NV5, Inc., on the project and has procured a proposal from Leighton, Inc. to complete the remaining Geotechnical/Materials Testing services. The District would like to extend the contract for the remainder of the Special Inspections and Testing Services to Leighton Consulting, Inc., for the Perris High School 33 Meter Pool Project. Title 24, Part 1, Section 4-335 requires that special inspections and testing for construction projects under the jurisdiction of the Division of State Architects (DSA) be performed by testing facilities acceptable to the Division of State Architects (DSA). The services are being provided at a cost of $130,752.
This Agreement is being brought before the Board as ratification in order to meet critical project timelines as this project is currently under construction. A delay in these inspections would cause project delays.

The cost for this item is included in the 2022-23 operating budget funded through Various Facilities Funds, not the General Fund.
