Perris Union HSD UT Candidate 23 24.pdf
Summary: The Perris Union High School District requests to continue the subscription with PowerSchool to provide services that will continue to improve the district's certificated hiring and screening processes through Candidate Assessment. Candidate Assessment is a research-based predictive analytics tool that uses thousands of data points, collected over time, to help school and district leaders identify, hire and develop the best teachers and certificated administrators. Candidate Assessment uses candidates’ assessment responses to measure each candidate's strengths and opportunities for growth in key areas highly correlated to improved student engagement and performance. The assessment results will be used to select high-quality, caring staff who will be dedicated to learning, and connect students to their education and potential goals. Moreover, the results of the assessment will also be used to help develop individualized support, with the intent of retaining teachers and minimizing teacher turnover. By using Candidate Assessment, the district is saving time by ensuring district administrators are interviewing the most highly qualified candidates. Candidate Assessment helps remove the guesswork out of the teacher candidates screening by measuring applicants’ cognitive abilities, attitudinal factors, and pedagogical skills. Another key benefit of Candidate Assessment is that it would assist the district in screening certificated administrator candidates by measuring applicants' leadership dispositions, ability to handle school administrator responsibilities and leadership skills. The term of this Agreement shall be from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024, at a total cost of $28,446.05.
Funding: The cost for this item will be included in the 2023-24 operating budget funded through Title II Funds, not the General Fund.
