The District's Educational Services Department has recommended updates in our district-wide course catalog. When a course is discovered to be in the best interest of the students, instructors are brought together to create a course for additional student offerings. The RCOE Intermediate ESports Game Design and the RCOE Advanced eSports Game and Design are the concentrator and capstone courses in the Games and Simulation Pathway number 175.
RCOE Intermediate ESports and Game Design builds on the Introductory class. It allows students to gain foundational knowledge in high-growth verticals (such as business, marketing, cybersecurity, etc.) and gain relevant industry certifications, helping students kickstart their careers. Within the Business and Marketing units, students learn how to create quality business plans for their hypothetical products while getting certifications. In the Cybersecurity and networking modules, students will perform hands-on labs using the cutting-edge Testout software. On module completion, students will have the skills necessary to pass the CompTIA Tech+ certification, a prerequisite to CompTIA Security+ certification (one of the most sought-after certifications in the hyper-growth field of Cybersecurity). They will also learn key soft skills of communication, teamwork, and leadership. This course is intended for grades ten through twelve and has been approved by UC/CSU for a “G” Elective. This is the second of three ESports Game and Design courses for the ESports courses.
RCOE Advanced ESports and Game Design-build on the Introductory and Intermediate classes. This advanced class focuses on students' certifications in the high-growth technology fields of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data science via the CompTIA Tech+ modules. The content for this Advanced class follows the requirements needed for the CompTIA Tech+ certification, which is a prerequisite for the CompTIA Security+ certification (one of the most sought-after certifications in the hyper-growth field of Cybersecurity). At the end of this Advanced Class, students will have attained the CompTIA Tech+ certification. They will have a strong foundation to pursue a career in Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Game Design, and/or Data Science. They will also learn key soft skills of communication, teamwork, and leadership. This course is intended for grades ten through twelve and has been approved by UC/CSU for a “G” Elective. This is the final of three ESports Game and Design courses for the ESports courses of study. |
