Joseph Williams, Executive Director of Technology, requests that the Board of Trustees approve the attendance of the below-listed participants at the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Conference in Chicago, Illinois, on June 25-28, 2023.
Joseph Williams, Executive Director of Technology, Tom Ashley, Technology Coach, Robert Guzman, Technology Coach, and a team of approximately ten educators.
The ISTE Conference provides professional development opportunities for anyone who works in education. This national conference has professional development sessions in the form of lectures, panel discussions, hands-on or bring-your-own-device sessions, leadership meetings, product showcases, remote interactive videoconferences, and many workshops on various educational technology practices. This conference covers themes such as School Improvement, Technology Infrastructure, Professional Learning, Digital Age Teaching & Learning, and Virtual Schooling/E-learning. PUHSD attendees would be joining approximately 17,000 other educators at the event.
In previous years participants at ISTE had opportunities to collaborate on the articulation of a vision for districts in the implementation of educational technology, a vision for districts to provide support and training for their staff, and a vision to empower staff in the use of educational technology for student achievement. ISTE has been instrumental in the success of the roll-out and ongoing implementation of educational technology at PUHSD. |
