Summary:
On January 31, 2024, the California Military Institute (Charter) and the California Military Institute Teachers Association (CMITA) reached a Tentative Agreement (TA) on Appendix A - Compensation for the 2023-24 school year. The Agreement will provide an ongoing five-percent (5%) increase to all salary schedules effective July 1, 2023, for all unit members in paid status as of January 1, 2024. (This ongoing increase is inclusive of the two-percent (2%) increase previously negotiated for the 2023-2024 school year.) Additionally, effective July 1, 2024, the Charter will increase the contribution towards premiums for health and welfare benefits for full-time unit members. Further details of this Agreement are in the attached document.  
Funding:
The cost for this item is included in the 2023-24 operating budget funded through the Charter General Fund.  
Recommendation
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Tentative Agreement between the California Military Institute and the California Military Institute Teachers Association regarding compensation for the 2023-24 school year.
