Summary:
|
The Schools and Libraries Program of the Universal Service Fund makes discounts available to eligible schools and libraries for telecommunication services, Internet access, and internal connections. The E-Rate program is intended to ensure that schools and libraries have access to affordable telecommunications and information services.
To ensure a fair and open competition, district applicants are required to post an initial Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Form 470 on the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) E-Rate Productivity Center’s (EPC) website portal and then wait at least 28 days after posting the Description of Services Requested & Certification Form 470 before selecting a service provider, executing any contracts, or signing and submitting the Services Order and Certification Form (Form 471). The District posted FCC form 470, as required.
School Districts must select the most cost-effective provider of the desired products or services eligible for support, with price as the primary factor.
FCC rules require that an applicant sign a contract with the service provider before submitting a completed Service Ordered and Certification Form (Form 471). Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they had a signed and dated contract in place at the time the Form 471 is submitted. The Form 471 must be filed no later than March 27, 2024.
The District sought proposals from the California Multiple Awards Schedule (CMAS) and/or WSCA-NASPO Service Providers to purchase a network school site switching solution.
The District recommends ConvergeOne as the CMAS contractor for the PEHS 2024-C2 WAPS CMAS Category 2 Wireless Access Points project. |
