On April 19, 2023, the Perris Union High School District Board of Trustees (Board) approved an Agreement with TYR Inspection (TYR) for Division of State Architect (DSA) Inspector of Record (IOR) services for the Liberty High School Restroom Project. The Department of State Architect (DSA) requested a change of IOR due to TYR’s current project commitment and workload. Due to the required change, the District requested a proposal and entered into an Agreement with Ironwood Consulting and Inspection, Inc. (Ironwood Consulting) to take over DSA Inspection Services on the Liberty High School Restroom Project. The IOR verifies that the construction of a project matches the plans and specifications as approved by the DSA. The duties of the IOR are defined in Title 24, Part 1, Section 4-342. In addition, the IOR works with the District to mitigate the effects of construction on the activities and operations of a school site and to note that the contractor(s) use(s) care to provide a safe site. The DSA IOR services are provided through project completion and will be billed at an hourly rate of $98.00 with an estimated cost of $83,496.00.
This item is being brought before the Board as ratification due to the need to change the IOR on the Liberty Restroom Project after the start of the project. Furthermore, ratification is necessary to prevent delay of the site plumbing and concrete work which was completed while the campus was shut down for summer break. |
