Aaron Nering, FFA teacher at Perris High School, has submitted a request to have fifteen (15) Future Farmers of America (FFA) students attend the Alan Hancock Field Day. The Alan Hancock Field Day will occur at Alan Hancock College, Santa Maria, CA, on February 16-17, 2024.
The Alan Hancock Field Day is a Career Development Event hosted by Alan Hancock College in Santa Maria, CA. The field day is full of different agricultural contests, including Best Informed Greenhand, Soil & Land, Evaluation, Vegetable Crop Judging, Veterinary Science, and Nursery Landscape. The contests aim to improve and inform student teams of their ability and increase their confidence in the stated areas.
Fifteen (15) students and one (1) adult chaperone will be in attendance. Transportation will be provided via district vehicles. |

The cost for this item is included in the 2023-24 operating budget funded through Perris High School Future Farmers of America Associated Student Body Funds and the Carl D. Perkins Grant in the amount not to exceed $2,000, not the General Fund. |
