The U.S. Department of Education will host the Conference on Equity in Opportunity, October 26-27, 2023, in Denver, CO. Dr. Casaundra McNair, Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, requests approval to attend. This conference, titled "Raising the Bar: Elevating Educator Diversity to Enhance Educational Experiences," is a two (2) day event that will discuss priorities for a diverse workforce in education, identify hurdles to making a diverse workforce a reality, disseminate and amplify promising practices, and share information about grant funding to increase equity and access to funding opportunities. Specifically, the conference will aim to have thoughtful conversations about ensuring that every student has access to outstanding, well-prepared, well-supported educators who reflect the diversity of the students that the District serves. |
